The next few months will see a number of rail line closures affecting passengers at Pewsey and Great Bedwyn, as Network Rail and Great Western Railway undertake improvements to the rail infrastructure to enable electrification of the line to Newbury.
When complete, we will see new trains serving Bedwyn and Pewsey, with more seats, improved reliability, and crucially the continuation of direct services between Bedwyn and London Paddington which are so important for everyone living and working locally.
However, Richard Benyon MP and I are concerned that with the first scheduled line closure taking place for four days from Monday 12 March that more clarity about the travel alternatives, and more communication are urgently needed for rail passengers.
