Last week Claire Perry met with the Julia’s House Hospice Team, to review the progress towards opening a children’s hospice in Devizes. Claire heard about the fundraising appeal, including donations from Hollywood stars; support from the Wiltshire Gazette and Herald; and the hundreds of other fundraising events being organised by local people.
Planning permission has been secured, and building work is expected to commence in the next few weeks. It is hoped that that the hospice will open in Autumn 2017, but in the meantime nurses from Julia’s House are continuing to support Wiltshire-based families with respite and care in their homes.
Claire said,
Julia’s House will provide much needed care and support for sick children and their families when the hospice opens next year. I am delighted that such fantastic progress is being made, and I would personally like to thank everyone who is helping with fundraising for this incredibly important facility.
