Claire Perry MP visited Pewsey Station this week to meet Network Rail project staff and welcome the start of the works to replace the 45 year old footbridge between the up and down train platforms. The £465,000 project will deliver a new bridge that is safer and more convenient to use by October this year.
Speaking after the visit, Claire said:
"Despite the best efforts of Trevor Bevan MBE, the wonderful station manager, the old bridge at Pewsey is looking very shabby and can be dangerous in icy conditions. I am really pleased that Network Rail listened to the concerns of First Great Western and local passengers and are funding this replacement bridge. Work is now underway and the new bridge should be in place well before the worst of the winter weather.”
