There will be no trains at Bedwyn and Pewsey next week (Monday 14 May – Thursday 17 May) for the next phase of works to electrify the line to Newbury, which when complete will see new trains serving Bedwyn and Pewsey, with more seats, improved reliability, and crucially the continuation of direct services between Bedwyn and London Paddington which are so important for everyone living and working locally.
I am pleased that Great Western Railway has responded to my concerns and those of season ticket holders about the significant disruption and inconvenience that regular rail users will experience over the next few months, and has arranged a goodwill payment for season ticket holders whose journeys are extended by over 30 minutes. Please do continue to send me your feedback on the line closures and any thoughts for improvements to the alternative arrangements.
